Recipe~Mint & Lemon Verbena Simple Syrup
Summer is ‘iced tea season’ when ice cold, freshly made tea is most refreshing and wonderful to drink, when the weather turns hot & humid.
Creating flavored simple syrups adds a new dimension of flavor to iced tea and other summer beverages. Enjoy!
~Mint & Lemon Verbena Simple Syrup~
In a small saucepan, over low heat:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Cook until sugar dissolves and becomes clear. Remove from heat.
Add to syrup:
1/4 cup~fresh, torn~mint leaves
1/4 cup~ fresh, torn~lemon verbena leaves
Stir syrup to thoroughly mix leaves into the syrup and allow to cool.
Add to iced teas, lemonades, and other beverages. Enjoy!
