Enjoying the Simple Pleasures of Life, While Living in a Complicated World

James Placzek 1937-2010

James F. Placzek

Today, my oldest brother, James Placzek died at the age of 73.

He was decades older than myself and by the time I was born, had already begun traveling the world. After he retired, we became close and shared our interests in food, wine, traveling, computers and most of all, photography.

When James experienced a severe health problem two years ago, he came to live with our family. His quick wit and ability to enjoy a good laugh will be greatly missed by all of us.

This was a lovely post, Annie. Very simply said, but quite eloquent all the same. “Unca Jim” will be missed.

  2. Remembering Jim…
His favorite pudding of all time was butterscotch pudding…

However, he renamed it, with his own vernacular: Scutterbotch

That is Emmie’s favorite as well…AND she has been calling it that for years! 🙂

  3. Remembering Jim…
I was less than five pounds when I was born, and Jim gave me a rather interesting nickname:

    Peanut
