Enjoying the Simple Pleasures of Life, While Living in a Complicated World

More About The Climbing Rose…

Mother nature will do as she sees fit. When it comes to climbing roses… She has a mind of her own!

A rose cane  found its way into our outdoor candle lamp, and before I found time to remove it…it bloomed!

After the blooming period, I’ll gingerly remove the cane to allow it to continue to grow. One question remains: Will we have to extend the lattice up the side of the deck?

A close up of one the hundreds of blooms on our climbing rose. Each flower has large number of petals that are perfect for drying and adding to potpourri.

Sweetly fragrant and about three inches in diameter, this climber will re-bloom sporadically throughout the summer, into early fall months.
